How do we connect these days as working adults?

I’m honestly stumped when thinking about it, how do we meet new people these days without technology? Is it all up to chance and circumstance?
Online feels like a dead end but if not online where?
We see so many things on social media about where not to meet people but not many on where we should. How do we connect as working adults?
