There are TWO types of hugs... there's the polite societal 'token' hug and then there's the genuine full frontal full contact hug that lasts at least 20 seconds.

For me, it really depends on who it is I'm hugging and in what context. Usually, I don't let anyone get all touchy-feely with me and people unnecessarily touching me annoys me a lot. Even if it's someone I'm close to, like my mom or my siblings. Maybe I'm built different but.. yeah.

And even so, there are very VERY rare moments where I'll let someone hug me or I'll make the effort of hugging them. Like if a loved one died and they're feeling emotionally distraught and weak, I'll give them a hug or let them hug me if it makes them feel better. As long as they don't start squeezing me, that is.

I'm a hugger most of the time. I will definitely hug people I like/am comfortable with. I will usually accept a hug from a random person or someone I just met as well. The type of hug and how long it lasts strictly depends on who it is and the situation. Friendly hugs among family, acquaintances, friends, random people, etc., are going to be simple and to the point and not long-lasting. If it's a hug with a crush, boyfriend, etc., it'll be longer and more sentimental.

I feel like I am a hugger with the people I love. Everyone needs a hug once in a while.
I don't like affection from strangest it weirds me out but if it someone I love like my boyfriend I can be a bit clingy and like to get hugged. If it's not someone I really love tho I don't really want affection from them... I don't know why it just doesn't feel the same.

Huge hugger.
But its also the most common source of physical intimacy for me, I'll hug any friend that let me. If I find other huggers I never let them go. 😅
After I had a real 1min , good, long hug I feel alright in life for days.. sometimes weeks.

But I get not all are comfortable with it and it's nothing I hold as a standard for any of my friends. It's just something I am priveliged to share. It's rather rare, I'd be lucky to reccieve two good hugs in a year.

I used to be a hugger but maybe it's because of one of my mental disorders but I no longer even like being touched, it's like being set on fire, which is ok since no one comes anywhere near me except my doctor or massage therapist. An yes it still feels bad when they touch me I just endure it because they have to.
