I’ve been talking to someone for about a couple months now and things have been going good up until … yesterday. It’s the age that’s causing things to be how they are now. My crush had always felt (starting from the beginning since we’ve met) has been skeptical about it. The age gap is definitely there but she still told me that we would try and make it work by taking it slow and going with the flow. I thought that was what we were doing up until yesterday morning when I got a text saying she didn’t want to build this connection anymore and that it’s best to stay platonic friends. Mainly because of my age and because I’m still growing and I’m immature in some things (like work or cooking and stuff like that) .. I don't know what to do and what to think. Can someone give me their opinion on this?

She mentioned that she’s solid about her decision because it took her a week to figure it out on what’s best and that the final decision was that it’s best to stay as friends and only friends because I’m too young for her. She told me “I just realized it’s just too young for me. It’s like do I wait around or what. But it just makes me feel like I don't know maybe I should just be alone. So idk”
