How to let girl you want a more romantic/sexual relationship?

I tend to come off as the friendly and accommodating, therefore getting burnt because of this. I have always been nervous of getting in trouble with trying to hint at either a more romantic relationship or sex, because of fear as coming off as a creep. Not to mention seeing all the horror stories of guys getting lied on and having their life destroyed. Yet deep down I would love to have both, more so on the context of a relationship. Just don’t know how to correct my way of thinking, and glue to make moves.

By asking nicely and not pressuring girls. And taking the time to get to know them before asking.
