What’s the right thing to do In this situation because it led to a major argument between myself and my girlfriend?

My girlfriend was driving at night and I was in the passenger seat. She was going to turn and didn’t see these people and almost hit them but swerved out of the way in time and ran up on the sidewalk. I go we should go back and check on them they could be rattled, startled. But she got upset at me because I was thinking of them before her. I was like like because they were in front of a moving vehicle their lives were in danger she said I wasn’t being supportive and I was like look it was a spilt second from being a really bad ending and she goes well It didn’t happen and the fact you keep giving me visuals is really upsetting me. But the big root of the argument was I told her I would have dealt with it differently she immediately got scared and ran and I said I would have left my damn car on the sidewalk and checked on the well-being of these people because that’s the good person I am.

It’s irrational I’m a good moral person I am extremely selfless my mind immediately went to them and she had the impulse to run. I told her had you hit them and did the same thing you would have worse issues because she has a impulse to run under extreme stress
