No I wouldn't at my age. It's too weird and I wouldn't believe they were into me. I don't look my age and I'm in decent shape but did I say it's weird? Cause to me it feels weird.

I did something I thought was nice though that made me feel like a good human. I had a colleague that was 19 when I was 40 and she was not interested in me to get that out of the way and vice versa.

She thought it was funny I was only a few years younger than her dad. She said I seemed like a younger person in conversation (aka silly sense of humor lol).

She was upset that she didn't know if good guys still existed and wasn't even sure if she'd recognize what that looked like.

So without telling her, because well, no one likes mansplaining I quietly showed examples of behavior that a good guy should possess if interested in a girl.

So she would talk, I would actively listen, be polite like hold the door open all that stuff. A few times I brought in a snack or coffee the way she told me she likes it. Every time I would do these things she'd smile and say that's so nice lol.

It was difficult not to come off like I'm hitting on her but the age gap I think helped and I wasn't being creepy.

A few weeks in I realized we both genuinely liked each other's company and I ask her out to lunch and I paid. We laughed over silly stuff and when we got back she said the se thing my boss said. She said I know you don't want kids but you'd be a great dad. Honestly I think that's the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me.

We get back to the office and she said I need to meet someone as nice as you. I said well at least you know what nice looks like and she gave me a hug. She figured out what I was doing. We were always friendly at work but she was so young, and I always wanted to be a good influence on younger people. They are the future just not mine romantically lol. It felt like having a daughter that wanted to talk to me that's all. This is off topic but this question reminded me of this so I felt like sharing it. Sorry I went off on a tangent

I'm 20, and I would still say no. Girls my age are mostly immature, so I imagine an 18 year old isn't better at all. I just think dating for young people is pointless, because most of the time these relationships end with break ups and you won't go anywhere. You need to have a plan of where you see yourself in the next 5 to 10 years, and work accordingly. For me, that plan is becoming a physican, so I'm working on that one step at a time.

Now, if you the asker as the 18 year old have plans of becoming a lawyer for example, you're gonna wrote down a list of things that you will have to accomplish in order for you to get to that point in a specific time frame. Dating is no different. You cannot "manifest" the perfect partner, you have to write down a list of things you want and things that you do not tolerate, and then date with the intention of it leading to marriage, and not casual short-term relationships. This is simply why I stay away from dating in general at my age, because a) I don't have time and b) it's rather rare to find someone with the same mindset and values as me in my current generation. Even I am not perfect, and I would hope that in 10 years I am more mature am in a better position to be married.

As a male in my 30s when i've hooked up with someone I found attractive but were a fair bit younger than me in the past, I've made it clear it wouldn't become a serious relationship.

Although there may be a physical attraction there I feel when the age gap gets too large it throws up a lot of issues when it comes to dating that I won't list.

I don't know, what would an 18 year old girl want with an old fat crazy guy like me? I'm a good honest helpful loyal person but that's all I really have going for me. Why would she pick me over a guy her own age? We are at 2 different stages of life. Seems like it would be setting myself up for disappointment. When she came to her senses she would probably leave me for a young guy. What would her family and friends think about it? If I had a daughter I would prefer she date guys her own age. I probably wouldn't date a girl younger than mid 20's who is out of college, working, not living at home with parents, etc. I have women 20 years younger than me hit on me at work sometimes but they are usually drunk, and I don't fool around with drunk women who I don't know.

I’m not sure what I would say to an 18 year old in a romantic sense. We’re just too far apart and at vastly different stages of life. Even if I never had her as a student, odds are on that I would struggle mightily to see her as anything different, and that is just so strictly off-limits that it’s unthinkable.

Depends. I won't out right look for a 18 year old but if she was undeniable amazing...
I'd be open to it because I know age is just a number in the end. However, I prefer not to start a life with someone nearly 10 years behind me. The girl would have to be a very unusual 18 year old. Even if she was my age she would have to be unusual.

Maybe, but probably not. Age isn’t a deal breaker for me by any means. But an 18-year old would have to be very special in order to gain and keep my interest. I think it would be a bit strange to date someone that much younger than me. I try not to judge others, but I have a feeling most people would judge a couple, with that age difference, in one way or another.
If I meet someone where it's a big age difference (both older or younger than me) there needs to be an extreme strong connection from the beginning for me to even think about it.
