How do you handle a dinner bill on a first date under these circumstances?

She is older than me/makes more $/chose the restaurant... Do I offer, and then back down if she offers? Also, this place is convenient for her, and I am going quite a bit out of my way.

This is both complicated & simple at the same time. When dealing with a traditional woman (as a traditional man) the man pays. But this woman isn't being traditional or she would have REQUIRED you to pick the place or just ignored you when you never bothered to pick. 1st date it's best to avoid the possible mistakes you can make by keeping things light. This is especially true when it comes to women you have little to no clue about: In today's world where we have absolutely no idea at all if it's worth buying a woman a meal, it's smart to never go to dinner on a 1st date. And this was true 20 years ago but more guys didn't realize it then. 1st date should always be something that is practically free and not a big time investment.

Now I see someone said, "If you can't afford a 1st date, you might not be able to afford the next one" -- To me it's not even about what you can afford. It's about what she's worth. There's a reason why people don't buy cars before doing a test drive or being able to look under the hood & all of that. Rushing to buy some woman a dinner on the 1st date is like buying a car you know next to nothing about. Except it's even worse than dealing with a car because cars have standard makes & models that you can research. Women aren't going to give you "make & model" info like "bipolar with 20 ex boyfriends and 30 f-buddies".. Oh, no.

And for the women who want to claim, "you're objectifying women" - When you don't even know the other person we make decisions based on what we do know so naturally decisions aren't about your "soul". Sorry, that's reserved for women who have proven that they even have one.

So the answer is you offer to pay half.. I mean that's the sane answer. The problem in reality is that dudes have been arrested for not paying the bill when out on a date. This NEVER happens to women. So if she decided to order $350 worth of food and walk out.. you're on the hook 100%, not her. The cops & most judges are simps and they will remind you that boobs have more value in a court of law. In general you better be real careful which women you get involved in.

Well does she know what you do for a living? Minor relevance but might help you in the long term of the date. Being upfront and telling her you might have to split the bill might reduce the over ordering of expensive dinner.

There's no point of putting a macho act of paying for the bill at the end of the date if you'll be financially suffering on the side. Cheers.
