He has resorted to timing me and is always scolding when it happens but I thought he should be used to it by now, I mean, some things can't change, right? I mean I don't know how to be early. Even my boss has given up. I tried often times.
Now he called me last night just to "address my lazy behavior." saying he really wants to see a change which made me feel bad and I don't like it.
He may end up deciding to just be late himself in the future, to try and guess when you'll be ready. Not sure if that will work or how it would happen.
Being on time though is a sign of respect for the other persons time. I used to wait for hours for a guy on a date to show up, wasting all that time when I could be doing something else.
Now he has 10 minutes, and we can try to reschedule but it will be about 10 weeks out on my busy schedule that doesn't have time for anyone who doesn't respect my time. As I am always early, so someone being even 30 minutes late, means I've already been waiting for 45 minutes or so.
It is going to be a problem if you can't be on time, might as well end it now. He is not going to change, you either have to want to or move on and find someone who doesn't care if your late.
So you're more the spontaneous type and he's more the organized type. I have heard from guys that they do find women as flaky, but not unpunctual. I have heard complaints from women though that guys can be unpunctual
u You know how to be on time and you refuse to do those things. This is controlling, oppositional-defiant behavior and he has every right to be concerned. I ended one relationship about five years ago because of this very problem. You can be upset with him but you do not have the moral high ground here.
He is being overly controlling. That's a sign a future relationship with him will be all about him, not a partnership. Think seriously about whether you want to continue dating this guy.

Show up on time, it matters.
If you don't like him enough to do that, then maybe that says something.
If he lets you continuously show these small signs of disrespect, then eventually you might start to feel less attracted.
It sounds to me like you are the one with the problem. Being late means you have no respect for the time of others.
It’s simple. You don’t respect his time or even other peoples and expect them to just wait around until you finally show up.

It can be an issue. It doesn't have to be, but everything is a question of degree.
When you are late…. you are disrespecting your date or whomever you are meetings time. (Things happen occasionally, and that is understandable)
Not for me. Women are famous for being "fashionably late" which pretty much means late on purpose.
Thats controlling. The only thing you can do is communicate you will be late.
