i would hate to leave someone on read unless it's something that doesn't actually need to be replied to - delivered is slightly better because it just means unopened but i would prefer to respond either way and let them down instead of just straight up ignoring them

I think it's rude to just leave them on read/delivered, I think it's better to just tell them you're not interested politely. If they don't leave you alone, just block.

Neither, both are asshole moves. I'd would, and have, told them I appreciate the compliments, however I'm not interested in dating, they're not my type, just not feeling it etc...

I would be straightforward with them. If they texted again then i would not read their texts... even acknowledge received.

I try not to leave people on read bc I've had people get aggressive about me ignoring them, so I leave them on delivered if I don't wanna chat
