How would you feel?

So if you were talking to a guy you had previously been seeing. You had both expressed how you felt about each other and that you really liked each other. Despite that he tells you he wants to leave things for now, but would be open to more in the future.

How would you then feel if a few weeks later he tells you he wants to see how things go with someone he’s just met?

A few different emotions but surprised wouldn’t be one of them. The fact he said he likes you a lot but wants to wait is the biggest sign of him being insincere about his feelings, because if he really felt how he claims then he would be trying to advance things with you. Him not doing so even in the first few days says a lot about his intentions.

He only saw you as a friend to begin with, or he did like you but changed his mind.
