I want to take someone out this weekend (we’re both active), but haven’t been on a date in a while, so I’m a little nervous.

As long as both enjoy it, go for it. As long as there is time in there for relaxing and getting to know each other a bit as well.

Also note, it might be a red-flag depending on how isolated these activities are. Unless you already know each other well, the woman may feel intimidated leaving the protection a more "public" outing could give. So maybe not a first date, but definitely after once there is trust.
