If you meet someone and exchange numbers, what does it mean?

Hi,

I'm not sure how to ''keep'' friends is the question. If you meet/befriend someone and have a nice time, but also happen to exchange numbers, what does it mean when they call you later on? especially if the friend is a guy.

Any advice for an introvert, in addition to this the understanding not to encourage someone if he seems open to consider you a potential romantic interest or otherwise, would it make sense not to answer back just because of the possible outcomes or could it be a friendly call with no expectations on the other side?

Also introverts, you ever have that anxiety over calls too or is it just me? thanks

That they wanted your number and are potentially interested in getting to know you more, perhaps going out.

DO NOT read too much into it! I say that because just because he's talking to and calling you, doesn't mean anything serious will come of it. He might just be feeling you out and getting to know you better. The question is, are you interested in him as more than a friend?

Also, as an introvert, let me say, "You gave someone your number? Why?" LOL. Not to be mean, but most introverts hate giving out their phone number, unless it's to text or message someone. Introverts aren't really the talk on the phone type unless you just really have to.

I think you need to go with the flow. If you like him too you should give it a chance and if he hasn't asked you out on a date but just likes to talk to you that's fine too.

Usually, when I exchange numbers with a guy is because they are interested in me and taking me out on a date.

I never given my number to someone before like a stranger in the street. Though if she wanted it I would buy wouldn't think nothing of it. Unless she was interested in getting to know me like hanging out and stuff.

From my point of view whoever ask for the number is also responsible to make first use of it. I can use it but I don't feel bad if I don't. I never made any promises.
