Is it a sign that a guy could be interested in you if you exchange numbers?

Today my coworker and I exchanged numbers, I asked him if he would be up for coffee sometime or something and he said maybe and i said i hope it's not too soon since we've only talked back to back at work for a few months but he said it has nothing to do with me personally he said he's just not like a social butterfly or is used to hanging out with coworkers but then we ran into eachother when he was leaving and i was going to break and he said" wait let me give you my number "and i gave him mine. Could that be a hint?

Just a fyi he is kind of like me in a way more introverted but i just feel comfortable talking to him and my co-workers have got me out of my comfort zone at my job little by little and i wonder if he is probably just not the kind of guy to make a move right away till he feels more at ease.
