Why would a woman stay with a man if they have kids together age 18, 17 & 14 & she want marriage but he doesn't?

Financial reasons probably play a big part. Does she have her own income separate from him? Who owns the house? If she can't support herself or those kids, she can't really go anywhere, can she?

Then there's perhaps an emotional attachment. If they've been together long enough to have 3 kids in their teens, they're probably pretty attached. To suddenly be apart would be a huge change from what they've gotten used to over the last two decades or so, and change is difficult.

Perhaps marriage is a preference, but not a requirement. Perhaps the positives of their relationship outweigh this negative, and she doesn't believe it's worth leaving over.
