Why would a man have kids with a woman but never marry her?

I have friends that consider a marriage license as only a piece of paper that isn’t needed. One woman that I know once said that and only got married when she was getting close to retiring. Just for the benefits.
Another one had two children to as many men.
Another woman had set her goals in life to be a police officer or a mother by age thirty. She picked the latter with one of the town drunks. Then told him to get out of town or pay child support.
Another woman that I knew. Picked artificial insemination to someone that she never met.
Since it usually still takes two to create a child. The reverse of your question could be. Why do women allow themselves to intentionally become pregnant to men that won’t marry them first?

The greatest gift, a man give his children is to love their mother.

Society is doomed. We are so screwed up. The suicide rate is higher than it’s been in the history of the world and adults think they know everything, and they continue to destroy society and the hope and future for the children.

Not everyone likes the chains that come with marriage.

Some just want to avoid responsibility or act as if they are in an open relationship.

Sometimes it's a woman who doesn't want the marriage.

I also know some men who have very strict family rules regarding marriage, so for them, the only way to be with a woman they love is just to be with her, without the marriage.

Not everyone wants marriage, but they might want kids. Either way is a life long commitment so I don’t think it matters whether you marry or not. We’re not living in the 50’s anymore, you’re not going to be shunned by society for having kids outside of marriage.

Some men (and women) have a terminal fear of divorce, and honestly, I can't blame them. I have watched so many people go through it, and not only is the divorce itself a miserable and sad process, but the legal industry around it is predatory and toxic.

It’s a surprisingly growing trend as it actually saves the process of divorce and also saves money from taxes and so on but as long as there is consensus among partners, it’s perfectly okay to have a child while not married!!

So he can continue to fuck around! I used to have a guitarist who had been living with some woman for at least a dozen years and they 7 or 8 kids together but they never got married. A few months after he joined the band, I finally got my first girlfriend at a house party we just played and, while we were taking the gear back to the rehearsal house, I caught him trying to make moves on my brand new girlfriend!!

Because if she’s willing to give him kids before marrying her he doesn’t need anything else. Marriage isn’t really a benefit to men. She should have made that a priority, marriage before giving him children. Not everyone wants to be married, but a lot of people do want kids. What’s the point of marriage?

Probably scared of it ending badly in divorce and having to pay alimony in addition to paying child support. There are states where child support is mandatory if you're not married.
