+1 ySure.
To be honest, I am not one of those out there preaching everyone should vote... get out there and vote.
I go the other way. I like people that have taken the time to LEARN about the issues and candidates voting records and stances on issues and how they have voted to vote. People that actually know something and who actually have some knowledge and have given it some thought.
I know there are tons of people who don't know anything about candidates or politics and have no idea what anyone stands for or how anyone has voted regarding anything. They are 100% ignorant and literally just pick some name.
What's it going to be A or B?
Mmmmmm, I guess B. My best friends name starts with the letter B.
So, if someone doesn't know anything about the issues, the candidates, what they stand for, their voting record... anything, it won't bother me at all if they stay home on election day.

The laws for voting and voter's I'd are weird to the point where you can only vote in the place of your permanent residence which is difficult for people who moved away from their birth homes.
My permanent address is in the state i was born and grew up in but I live in a different state now, so voting would require me to go back to my hometown which isn't always possible.
This makes voting a kind of non issue as a criteria for dating here. I can understand why someone here wouldn't believe in it.10 Reply
Frankly voting is a waste of time, especially in federal elections. For your particular vote to matter, not only do you have to live in a district that isn't designed to be safe for one party or another, then the roughly 300k-500k votes split exactly evenly so you can decide the result.
Then, the lawyers would get involved and the courts would decide the winner.
They've already selected the winners except for fringe cases, so why legitimize them? For pretend like a kindergartner?

+1 yYes? My husband doesn't really like to vote anymore but i do tell him that he shouldn't give up that right though. Even if you don't really think it matters, just do it anyway. So hopefully I can get him to do the presidential voting.

+1 yThat would not be ideal, but if she has other good traits, and we get along fine, that would not be a problem. We would just rarely discuss politics, which is typically a good idea anyway.

+1 yNot sure, it's not exactly a deal breaker but I'm not sure what to make of it. I'm used to people disagreeing with me on politics so it's not a big deal but voting is somehow different. Not sure, I guess it depends on the person. The viewpoint is kind of negative though..
10 ReplyCan you? Sure. Should you? I don't know if that would be a dealbreaker but it's a hard one. My concern isn't that they vote a specific way but rather that not voting is an abdication of the responsibilities of being a citizen. That'd be really hard to get past.

very good point, however... what's the point of being a responsible citizen when the only two viable options to vote are the politicians that have always avoided their actual responsibilities towards the citizens themselves
is it really a responsible thing to do? to keep voting irresponsible people onto the power?
isn't that more like enabling irresponsible governments?
4.9K opinions shared on Dating topic. Sure. When it comes to dating I generally keep politics and all this stuff out. Love is all I really care about. Can she be loving. Do we have fun on dates. Is the romance nice. Is she generally a good woman
im fine with differences as long as the above is there
10 Reply2.2K opinions shared on Dating topic. Imagine finding someone you like, and then after 4 weeks of dating or something an election thing comes up so you ask about it they say "I don't vote so shrugs." then you who liked said person just goes "Okay bye! We are done now."
The idiot is obvious here.00 Reply- 6.5K opinions shared on Dating topic.

1.1K opinions shared on Dating topic. Why is that even a question? Do you not see the choices all countries have. Only voting you can do, is vote for the one who's less dumber than the other one. Voting sucks when they are all corrupt, selfish morns one way or another.
10 ReplyYes if I liked them, be a great discussion, although voting never really solves the problems of the most vulnerable in society, better to put your energies into direct help by volunteering,,,

+1 yYep! Why vote anyways if everyone is a scumbag?
10 ReplyYeah that wouldn't be a problem at all to be honest. I vote personally but know of people that just get their name ticked off and don't put any names down
10 ReplyYes, cause we would be in the same boat.. Not exactly not believing in voting, I just don't believe voting is much useful as I prefer little to no government.
