I knew somebody who said it did not matter how much you complained or how bad you felt, all that mattered was how hard you worked and how much you achieved cause people won’t date you just because you feel sorry for yourself, but they will date you if you look good from exercise, have a job and a degree, and can help around the home, what do you think? Does prayer work? Is it a waste?
Prayer definitely does work if you're a believer. Prayer is communication time with God, He hears everything you are saying and will respond to prayers in the right timing. Praying for others can help them or move the holy spirit to touch them and their lives or even keep them out harms way. The only time Prayer doesn't work is when you lack faith, you have to trust God and His abilities cause He can do all things. Also it depends what you're asking, if you're Prayer us out of hate, selfishness, or envy.. then the Lord isn't houng to grant you that. Another reason people think Prayer doesn't work is cause they expect God to do it mow and on our terms.. almost as if He's genie to grant them wishes and nothing more. God is patient, therefore He wants you to be patient and wait on His timing cause His timing is perfect.
I think prayer always helps! But I also think that you should try to look good, have a decent job (the best job you’re qualified to get, you should never settle for less.) help around the home and if you have the opportunity, get a degree! Because all the things I mentioned above, will help you become a better person for YOU not just for “some guy“. Eat right for you, work out for you, educate yourself for your own intellectual well-being, and look as good as you can… For yourself! But doing all of those things WILL also attract a man.

The most sagely 'wisdom' I can suggest comes from the admonition of St. Augustine: "FIRST, do ALL that YOU can... THEN pray to GOD to do what YOU cannot."

Prayer is NEVER a waste. I'll tell you what I told you last time. Just because you want it doesn't mean it's the best thing for you. God hears all prayers even if sometimes the answer is no. God may simply feel you're not ready yet, that now is not the right time for you.

I think it is a nice gesture but a waste if you can Actually do something. I think a homeless man will be happier with food, a new set of clothes and a place to stay than praying in the hopes he gets either of those things.
