Is he avoiding me and what to do in this situation?

I recently liked somebody on a dating app and found out we worked at the same company. We never matched, but i recognized him at a company party and i think he recognized me too. We had mutual friends but i noticed after he saw me, he would quickly look away. He didn’t seem disgusted or angry but after looking at me for a few seconds he would avoid. Is he awkward by the situation? Is it worth going up to him and being friendly? We work in the same company and I really don’t want us to be awkward, especially since we have mutual friends, but I’m also embarassed he saw i liked him on a dating app.
