If a guy asked you for space to think about your situation are they not interested to meet anymore?

Say you went on a few dates and the guy told you he needed about two weeks to think about meeting again. He said he was having confusing thoughts. Like he wasn’t sure if you should meet because he’s usually looking for hook ups rather than a relationship. And that he understands if I don’t want to meet either. Last time we talked online I thanked him for being honest and having sympathy for me. So I still have him as a contact but I feel like we won’t really talk again

Look the only thing anyone can do wrong in that scenario is not give that person space. You have a much better chance of talking again if you just cut ties. If you never talk again you saved time and are one person closer to who you are suppose to end up with. Also if you do end up talking to him again you still have to consider its just for his ego and may not be genuine. Relationships are work and they should never be one sided you matter too.

Yeah I agree. Also he might have wanted space to avoid sounding rude about not wanting to meet up. Or he might be checking his luck with other girls although he made it sound like it was about him

I've been there overthinking things as I tend to do the one im with now I took a break from and realized in time thankfully that I didn't enjoy not having her around. The ex that I was confused about was the same person that she was when it ended and It was clear how much better everything was with my now wife of 20 years. I know the space is what made the decision so much clearer.

I actually had some hook ups come back to me after like years. So you never know I guess

You know they came back because it was good. Sometimes its just good and it is what it was.

You may not, but you may. Trust him for now. If he doesn't contact you in a month, reach out and give him an ultimatum. He knows you want a relationship, and he respected you enough to tell you he needs to decide if he wants one too. That's a lot better than being attracted to you. You want a boyfriend who respects you and your desires.

I haven’t really told him I wanted a relationship just that I wanted to see him in the long-term. He didn’t really sound positively inclined towards that just that he might feel differently whatever that means. But reaching out to him seems too desperate at this point 😐
