Is it worng to think that I need a car, an apartment, and a better job so I can get a girlfriend?

I have none of thoses things and I don't feel independent 😕 or like an adult. 😕

I had all 3 of my GFs while I was without a car, living in my parents' house, and had a fairly shitty job, if any at all. The only job I had with girlfriend 1 was playing drums in a band and I was lucky if I even got $5.00 at the end of a gig!! When I was with girlfriend 2, a year later. I had 8 newspaper routes. When I was with girlfriend 3, I just finished one job building swimming pools and got another as a bike messenger. After a few months of that, started working at the Science Center selling tickets, then got a job as a cashier at a convenience store and, at the same time, worked with GF3 at a restaurant she'd been at for a decade or two.
After we broke up because the bitch was a cheating gold digger, I got a really good job and was there for 13 years and never once got a girlfriend!! Except for the few days #2 came back to me 3 years ago, I've been without a girlfriend for 21 years, now! At least 22 if you count the time #3 had been cheating on me before I discovered it.

We're supposed to be working towards equality, therefore she should be capable of getting things for herself and not "gifted" resources or freedoms by her man.

Therefore i would get those thimgs for your self esteem but dont wait to date a girl, date her as soon as you meet the right girl then keep working on the other things.

If you wait to be perfect you'll wait too long and miss out, getting those things together or while your with a women is so much better than getting them as a show piece or validation tick box.

No, I think you should want these things for you and not someone else. However, most people want to date someone who's already got most if not all of those things. So, it kind of leaves you with no choice. But, I will say there's people who will date you for YOU and not the things you have to offer.

I'm not independent. My girlfriend is not independent. Getting your own place, a car, and a good job won't hurt your chances, but you don't NEED them to get a girlfriend.
