Is it harder to date if you're not looking to have kids someday?

So, I am dating a woman now that does not want to have kids, and for me that is a very good and attractive quality at 46 years old. I could not date a woman who wanted to have kids, because I have already had my kids and they are grown and out of the house.

But my current girlfriend's previous marriage did fall apart over her refusal to have kids. So, it's a double edge sword, and there is no correct answer. I think age plays a huge factor... the younger you are the harder it is to find someone who does not want kids, but as you get older it gets easier.

As a woman that doesn't like or want kids, I can you that it makes dating difficult, but not impossible.

When I was in my 20s and actively looking for a partner, everyone laughed and mocked me for saying I didn't want kids... because apparently ALL women are expected to have kids if they can! 🙄😂 Idiots. But I digress-

When I told guys that, most were... not happy, as they wanted kids. It was rare finding a guy that didn't want regrets. That's why I used to put it on my dating, or tell them relatively quickly. That way if they wanted kids, I wouldn't waste their time or mine.

When you're dating or looking for a partner, that needs to be discussed relatively soon. Most people will probably disagree with me, but I rather know upfront, than months down the road.

I think as you get older @Cynicaldreamer the kid issue becomes less of an issue... but yes in your 20's most people are either unsure or not willing to commit to not ever having kids, even when they do not necessarily know for certain themselves.

Not necessarily is having or not having kids the issue. The larger issues are finding someone with our worldview and who is serious about a commitment. I know lots of people, some who are very attractive, with my worldview but are not ready to settle down. It seems that Timing is everything.

Wanting to have children makes it harder to find a general relationship but most serious people want children.

I would say it’s not harder. But you have to find people looking for the same thing.

Yes and no. Some men don't present as ideal fathers either due to their behavior or genetics or both. So if you're one of these men that don't inspire a woman to get pregnant it's a good thing if you don't want kids. Other men are the opposite and women will want to have kids with them. Ideally a man's desire matches what he makes the woman feel and then all is good.

My best understanding is this. Either when you fuck girls they remind you or insist you wear condoms or they go fuck that shit we don't need it and trust you to pull out. Across many hookups and relationships you will know which kind of man you present as to women.

As you get older it's actually easier. Also, you'll date people 30+ which people who want kids are less willing to do. It may be difficult to find women around your age who also don't want kids, but if you look at women 30+ you'll find more who don't want kids or accept not having kids.

It might be harder but, be honest. Biologically, they all want children but conditioning and experience has convinced many that they don't. Respect their wishes.
