My boyfriend told me that he would like to go to a club to drink and stuff with my family and I feel so shocked/ let down I don’t know why?

he always told me that he didn’t like places like that since he’s in introvert and now he wants to go since it’s a foreign country and I’m just like shocked I feel like do I know him? Lol and I feel kind of scared I don’t know why but when he told me that my heart just skipped a bit I guess a part of me feeling relieved was because he doesn’t usually like places like that but now I’m worried. Like why am I so shocked that he wants to go to a nightclub? And is that bad that now all of a sudden he wants to go there with my family and drink until 6am? That sounds terrible to me and it absolutely makes no sense with his personality lol Im concerned. Could he maybe want to look at the foreign women where we are?

He's said he would specifically be down for it if it is with you and your family (what family? Do you have the coolest dad known to man or is it siblings and stuff?).

It seems safe to assume your family is important to you. And that you want him and them to get along.

This is an attempt to get along.

If anything unless there are red flags somewhere I'd interpret this as him putting in effort for you to show he likes you.

Aaaaand lastly, at least to me, introvertedness is about a cost/gain relation to social interaction and not if a person enjoys it or not. Him being introverted and willing to spend his energy on what is important to you seems, rather nice.

Maybe. But are you not going too? Just speaking as a guy here, but if you will be there too it seems safe to say he's going for you. If he also enjoys their company? Isn't that a bonus?

I wouldn’t go because I wouldn’t enjoy all the people and alcohol I’d have a hard time he wants to go but I don’t know if he’d go without me
