Good things to do for fun for couples that don't make a lot of money?

WOW Kudos to @TrueConfection it’s pretty hard to add to her brilliant list! I would add, if you live on the east or west coast, (and statistically over 50% of. The US population DOES live within 50 mile of a coastline). But going for romantic walks on the beach is always a winner! If you live in Florida, and you’re anywhere Daytona, you can drive on the beach, park and have a beautiful picnic right there on the beach. I used to drive my ex-boyfriend to Daytona Beach in my Jeep. He made up the picnic, I provided the transportation. He came from a poor family, and he worked in fast food, so he didn’t like me spending money on him. But he always found ways to keep it romantic on a budget. One time my mom let him in my room while I was out and he grabbed my portable HD projector, and using one of his white sheets as a screen, we watched Casablanca while having a picnic on the beach. It was so sweet!
another thing I would add is subscribe to both your city and counties websites. They always have free events usually every week. But at least once a month. You can go to free concerts, crafts markets, events at your local library, all kinds of great free stuff. If she likes cars, car clubs usually have “drive-in” car shows every week. This one falls under something that’s “kinda” cheap… rent a convertible for the night, and go for a romantic drive under the stars, and who knows if you can find a VERY private spot you might just end up making love under the stars? There are lots of low cost / no cost things to do. You just have to use your imagination, (and read the great ideas here).

I love the beach! My husband and I like to take drives and we always end them watching the sunset over a beach.

@TrueConfection you must live on the West coast. We have to get up pretty early to see the sun anywhere near the ocean in eastern florida! LOL

@TrueConfection no, I know you meant sunset, I was trying to say that here on the east coast of Florida we don’t get sunsets so if we wanna see the sun near the water, we have to get up pretty early. (Unless we go to the West Coast of Florida or Key West). But I don’t get over to the West Coast that much.

I see. I'm currently on the east coast and we get to see sunsets over the ocean, but they are not as spectacular as the west coast sunsets.

@TrueConfection wow! Your’e on the east coast, and you see the sun set into the ocean? You must be on a very unique landmass to have that much ocean between you and the continent for you to see that. I envy you. Although I’ve seen the ocean sunsets in key west, I only see the sun setting behind the trees, or highway if I'm driving west. I do agree that California sunsets are spectacular though!

@DryGermanGuy Oh yes! #GreatestMovieEver. There is so much to do that doesn’t cost much. I wish you and your special friend nothing but good luck and wonderful times together. Remember, it’s just being together that makes it special. So as long as you are spending a lot of time together, I’m confident that you will have an amazing relationship.

• Take a virtual class together (paint night for example)
• Go for a night walk in the park (if it's safe in your area)
• Put a puzzle together
• Take turns reading to eachother (short stories, poetry)
• Volunteer for a charitable event together
• Plant a tree or flowers
• Plant a small garden (seeds are inexpensive)
• Make an outdoor fire and sing songs or tell stories
• Hang a white sheet up and have a movie night outside
• Check Groupon for discounts and other ideas
• Pitch a tent in your backyard, put lots of fluffy pillows and blankets, some fairy lights and candles, and have a romantic evening
• Go on a picnic
• Have a picnic on the living room floor at home
• Make a bucket list together

Oh, great idea here too! Our local library has free and discounted museum passes.

I should clarify... Library patrons reserve the passes and use them to get into the museums all over the state for free or at a discount.
