First, off I would want to say as long as it's not a minor. So, I will assume you are not talking about a minor.

Morally or ethically its shaky grounds, I mean if you fuck the student, you better be willing to give him an A+. Don't pull that bullshit where you are only going to give him a C grade, because of your professional standards. Because if you fuck a student, you have already compromised that.

Secondly, I am pretty sure your school or institution has some type of policy about this type of thing... but if you really want to get with this kid... then just make sure you fuck the living shit out of him and make sure he remembers what it feels like to be with a real woman.

Make she he leaves his phone at home or that you make sure it's off when you are around him. Because unless he has proof, then there is no way for him to get around the he said she said situation. But if you are laying in on him righteously, he would never flip on you. Plus, you are a woman, and we all know how sexist society is today... nobody would believe him over you.

Now if the student is a woman... yeah you better fucking not even try, she will flip on you in a second. And the sky will be falling all around you with or without proof.

I have never been aware of an educational institution that did not have strict guidelines on this question, and the answer is ALWAYS "no!" Of course, there are people who violate the rule. Some of them are never detected; those who are caught always are either fired or have serious discplinary actions taken against them. If you are teaching in a public high school, a typical response might be a lifetime ban from teaching.

What? You don't know the answer to this at the age of 42? No, you shouldn't date students. I would venture a guess that there are also rules in place at whatever school or university you teach at. Most likely it would end in your dismissal.

I am just shocked that this is even being asked by a teacher. Unless you are completely trolling, you should damn well know what the answer is. It is highly inappropriate at best and furthermore a complete conflict of interest.

Whatever institution you teach at will certainly view it this way. Not to mention faculty and students will think that you give preferential treatment to whatever student you date. Think about how all the other students will think about all they have to do is date you to get good grades.

Do yourself a favour and don't even think about entertaining this idea. I don't know what country you teach in, but I cannot imagine that it would be found appropriate.

I know a professor that did and ended up marrying his student girlfriend sometime later. he was not fired until they downsized, not sure if that was related.

my belief is don't mixup your living/survival with mating.

If they are within 10 years of your age or less, and you actually love eachother, sure.

But If they are a minor though, no.

Any worthwhile relationship is more important than keeping a job.

If it's nothing serious or isn't appropriate though, don't bother and just keep your job.
