Is it wise to give up on a guy you like for some time after one date?

My friend gave up on a guy after first date. She was crushing on him long before they became friends. after they became friends they got closer after few months. They make out two times. They looked so sweet together. But now she ended it cuz she said he was pretty nervous and they struggled in conversation a bit. He was so sad. I like him as a friend and i think he is good guy and he really liked her
