My boyfriend is afraid im gonna leave him no matter how much I try reassure him?

Recently he told me he loves me so much he can't put into words, and that waking up next to me every morning is the most beautiful feeling. Then he said he thinks one day i make up my mind and leave and that i dont like him which is nonsense. I mean why would i be in relationship if i dont like him? Thats also what i told him. He then said he's afraid. Can anyone say where could this fear come from anyway i think one should live life to the fullest without worries and negative thought and energy

I’m guessing he is on the younger side, younger than 25 maybe. I remember being a young man. Insecurity is a common challenge at that age. The world likes to say “no” often to men in that age group. I think it makes us afraid that someone is going to take everything good from us, so we cling to everything or every person we value.


Ladies…you want a guy who recognizes that there are billions of women on this planet, many of whom would like us, or maybe even date us…who knows. You want a guy who understands that there are lots of other women out there. Maybe he even has some female friends, but he chooses to be with you without question. This man is not insecure. He will trust you unless you give him a good reason not to, and secretly, he adores you. He won’t cling to you though. He knows that is not attractive. He has a certain level of dignity he expects from himself. He feels proud that you trust him to be alone around other women. He will build a much stronger relationship with you than the insecure man will.


The guy who is afraid you will leave will fulfill his own prophesy if he is not careful. Women are turned off by insecurity. Insecurity becomes more sickening and annoying to women over time. Eventually, a woman will start asking herself, why do I keep doing this? Their girlfriends have probably been asking it for awhile. Most of the ladies I know, have plenty of options when it comes to potential boyfriends.


Don’t settle. Find good guy friends. The best guy to date will be your best friend first. You will know what kind of person he is before dating is even a topic. This certainly beats figuring out a guy is insecure while you are dating him. Insecurity can produce abusive behavior sometimes, so be careful. You want to know if a guy has abusive tendencies before you start dating him. Once you start having feelings for a guy, it is much harder to walk away. Make a guy spend some time and effort getting to know you first, so you have time to figure out what he is all about.


My wife is my best friend. We have been together for over 10 years. We were friends for 2 years before we got together. This gave me lots of time to get to know who she was at the time. I recommend that. The test of time never fails.

Sounds like he has been ditched in the past by an ex. You may want to ask him to see if that's the case. If someone has treated him poorly in the past, just reassure him your not the same person and he can't project those fears onto you.

Because both of you are very young, and unfortunately most women leave their boyfriends for someone who is more attractive, and makes more money.

Seen it happen to all my friends over the years, it’s not till late 30s or 40s that most settle for what they find.

But he is not wrong for being afraid you will eventually leave him.
