Do you ever move on from the one that got away? Do you have a person that comes to mind?

I met an amazing person once. At first, our relationship formed out of me teaching her English as she was new to the country and came from extreme poverty so was more concerned with survival instead of education.
I really did my best for her because her dream was to learn English, enroll in community college to obtain a two year degree in sonography.
I started to fall for her after she mastered English in a span of two months. She would always ask me “is what I said correctly?” She did not speak fluently or perfectly but I was amazed because she went from knowing not knowing how to count to 10 in English to now having conversations with me where I could now get more of an idea on who she was. She went to community college on a scholarship paid for, got her degree and met an amazing guy. I did not compete because my life was a mess at the time but I really did miss out on her. Somebody else immediately wifed her up because she was perfect.

She had short and curly hair. She did not know how beautiful she was or maybe she did but was humble about it. I even learned Spanish for her. I don’t think she even knew that I fell for her but I am glad she is happy now. She is engaged, got her dream career and has a kid on the way. I am truly happy for her. Very close to what she looked like from the photos. I’m sad and happy all at once. Sad that she is gone forever from me. Happy that she is happy as can ever be.
