What do people mean when they don’t want to come across as desperate?

Look. It seems like people seem to think showing genuine interest in someone is being desperate. Yeah if you’re being annoying or you keep pursuing someone who simply isn’t interested that’s a problem.

But refusing to show interest in someone is what will chase the man or woman you’re wanting to be with faster then anything. Especially if others are showing interest. He or she has other options.

If someone’a genuinely into you. They want you to show interest. At least for the most part.

Look we both have rights and duties, if the other doesn't give me my basic rights and make me ask for it like I'm a beggar, that will make me feel like I'm coming out like desperate.. And it's a sick and toxic feeling

In other hand showing interest and want to the other is their right on me so, it's my duty to do , so that they won't need to ask for it and come looking like desperate.

For example, spending time with your partner is their right so don't make them desperately ask for it because it's your duty to give it the first place... Now when this is done, then you discuss how you want to spend it , they way you both will want and prefer .

It just simply means that they don't want to put forth any effort. People use that excuse now-a-days as an excuse not to try. It's much easier to make a hundred excuses then to actually put some work in.
