Im a 5’10, 170lb fatherless 26 year old white boy who works in sales for a retail company called lululemon. I helped this girl (22) and we hit it off instantaneously. We’ve been talking for 2 months and she calls me old, says I give off dad vibes but she seemed to be interested. Until she called me weirdo, which I said, “why you dating me then?” and she responded,”Excuse me sir… what makes you think we’re dating?” And I said cause we went on dates? Now she’s distant, dry texts and seems over it. She still is interactive via text, but not like before. How do I play this?

Ok after a lot of thinking and a lot of asking around and hearing all the comments, I’ve established a kind of foundation to base this off of. Bear with me here, but most girls who speak of dads or has something for older guys not necessarily always, but most of the time has daddy issues. Dads are providers, protectors, well rounded handy citizens. Not all of coarse. Case by case basis but to be a good dad you need to have those traits. Sounds like she is playing games, how do you play it? Dad vibes, sounds like she thinks you are telling her what to do or giving her too much advice about decisions you think should make, or that you are trying too hard to be freinds and not really taking a real interest in her. Either way it's not good my man, and I would assume she is not really interested.

Well, I would assume that at this point you just want to have sex with her. I mean I would not want to date a woman like this, because she could very possibly be stringing you along or playing games.

I would just tell her that the texting has been great, but if she in not romantically interested in you then you are not sure how this is supposed to go. If she acts like she does not know what you are talking about then you remind her that she told you that you are sending off dad vibes and that not cool... because you ain't trying to be her dad.

From there you just got to do your best to work into sex, but dating wise I would let this one go.

If by making that simple innocent mistake, effected her to the point where she looks at me differently, should I power through this in hopes of us being what we were? Or is there no hope? You said dating... if that's not what you're doing what's the piont? Make clear to her that's what you want and if she doesn't then move on. Don't hang out just "talking" that's how you get friend zoned.
