Okay...the guy I like is kind if quiet and shy anyway...and I don't know if he likes me...so does that mean anything if he gets nervous around my dad?

Because Dad was once a young guy like us. He went through the horniness of youth, and he knows what the majority of young men want from his daughter: sex.

To us, when we have a daughter, we want to protect her from the calloused lust we have in our hearts, and we view every young suitor as a potential to hurt our precious daughters.

He's nervous because he is afraid Daddy will discover the true motives in his heart, and call him out on it. He has good reason to be.

I don't get nervous. Honestly, I think of them merely as an irritating obstacle until they show me otherwise. So I'd be guarded and not very sociable around him to start. If this guy's shy to begin with, you can't know. He may just not have anything to say to your dad or he may think your dad doesn't like him. Why don't you ask him how he feels?

Two shy people together is one of the most difficult relationships to start. You can't really read shy people and there's this prolonged waiting game until one of them works up the nerve to ask the other if that ever does happen. Just know, you're wasting days of what might be a happy relationship by not finding out. However, don't forget you also run the risk of rejection. I once asked a girl out, not considering if I could handle her rejection and it destroyed my self-esteem for a time. You have to make the decision.

Because dads know exactly what we're thinking! And they're usually suspicious (and understandably so) as to whether or not we REALLY like/love their daughters, or if we're just in it for sex.

Either way, they know that we've got all kinds of dirty stuff in mind for his sweet little angel, and they don't usually like it. Haha!

No we aren't I just have a crush on him and my dad is my coach and my crush plays for the men's team and they run into each other a lot! And I can tell he gets kind of nervous

Dad's are the final frontier of "approval". My Dad took all of my sisters boyfriends out in the backyard to show them the random large hole there they would be put in if they violated any of them.
