Well I'm 17 and SOMETIMES I catch my dad looking at my chest or staring for too long... and lately he's been making me uncomfortable whenever I wear shorts or tank tops (I don't know why) it hasn't always been awkwardish between us. The other day he poked my thigh in the car and asked if there was a bruise just so he could look ( there clearly was no bruise)... I feel like he makes excuses so he can look at my legs. it makes me feel uncomfortable. It's hot outside And I feel uncomfortable just to wear a bathing suit or shorts in front my dad... My dad loves me a lot I know he'd never do anything !! I live alone with my dad ,,,, Just want to know opinions if this is normal or not. Or if any girls feel the same way?

It's not normal and you're not imagining it. Change up your dressing habits to more conservative clothing, and see how he reacts. My guess is that he is sexually attracted to you and have been watching porn. Overall, this is one of the main reasons why you should NOT wear near revealing clothing for your body personally. You're going to have to cover up and set some strict boundaries with your dad. I don't know if you have your mom around, sorry to bring it up if she is living or not, but if she is, you need to call her. If not, call another family member that you're close with. This is your dad you are talking about. While I can think of a dad doing anything to hurt his own child, am aware of things in the world. Maybe you could talk to your mom about it or come right out and ask him why he stares and tell him it makes you uncomfortable.

The looking at the chest thing is somewhat okay. For me, I sometimes look at my sister's chest in a state of 'Wtf, when did she get boobs?' That anecdote about the bruise is concerning, however. I would start dressing more modestly if I were you. Wear long dresses and opaque leggings. Wear shorts under your dress.
