Well, I know my dad would do the same thing. He tries to act tough or just 'let them know' or show them not to mess with his little girl. It's moreso a parental 'dad' thing, it's always portrayed in movies (or some) that the dad is very cautious about who his daughter dates/brings home. He just wants to silently alert, or make it known not to mess or break his little girls heart, for he'll be messing with him(your dad) who has the 15 guns.. haha. He just wants to make sure he doesn't do wrong to you. But yes, he doesn't seserve that kind of behaviour. He should maybe talk more to your dad so your dad doesn't judge him just by his race before he acts that way towards him. If your dad finds out who he really is, then he will probably settle a bit more after seeing and understanding why his girl loves this boy so much. He should accept him no matter what. If he is what makes you happy, your dad should appreciate him and not scare him off because that would just ruin you. Talk to your dad about that. Surely he will be more understanding and lay down the guns.

=o That's scary. You should seriously talk with your dad. Your boyfriend doesn't deserve to be treated like that. Whether he has a problem with race or not, this is a guy you care about and he should be more accepting of that. Unless, the guy is terrible for you (but he still is going too far). Yeah, he's being overly protective. A way of telling the guy not to hurt you. My dad took out a hunting gun once as a joke, because there was a squirrel and my dog kept barking. He didn't shoot it. He was joking around. I was with my boyfriend and some of my dad's friends, neighbors. When we saw him come out of the garage with it, I made a comment about my boyfriend being a good guy, so no. You should've seen my bfs face, for that second he freaked out (esp since we were still new in the relationship lol), then we all laughed. XD
Your dad sounds like my dad so much. Guns and all. But they only act like that because they know what they are thinking. Your dad was 17 once so he knows want is going on up their. Your boyfriend could be on his way to a great career and is always treating you right. I guess bringing the guns out reminds your boyfriend not to mess up or else.

well most parents are really protective of their daughters especially because a lot of guys will try to take advantage of you. I now have a little sister and I'll be here the first guy that comes to pick her up, and I'll be cleanin out my shot gun, its just to tell them to stay in line or there dead sh*t, I do this with my girls that are friends to though, like when a guy tries to have sex with them and stuff and they don't want it, I put them in the hospital it teaches them a little lesson
your dad won't harm him but he will scare him. he doesn't want some Philipino guy sleeping with his daughter obviously.

Alright. So your dad is maybe overreacting, but you're his little girl. Do you have any other sisters? Because he is worried what may happen and since this guy is 2 years older, he knows what goes on in a 17 year old boys head so he is trying to be protective over you.
hes probably just being a silly protective father, trying to keep the guy in line by scaring him a little. I don't think he's doing it to be rude, its just your his daughter and he's may want to keep guys wary that he means business and that if they hurt his daughter, he won't be a happy man. ust don't be too worried. you could even just ask your dad. like next tim eh does it, just be like, hey so why did you have to clean your guns today, dad? I doubt he actually means harm by doing it
your dad doesn't want him to hurt you, I like it when girls dads do that to me because I think its funny as hell I don't get intimidated, I usually have more guns then them anyway. but your dad loves you and it just a tactic to scare him from hurting you.
Because he loves you!
