Why does my girlfriend dad act jealous when she talks to me?

Ok so I met this girl and we been talking for only 4 months it’s going pretty good I talk to her mom her mom is cool but when she gets around her dad and me and her are talking he gets jealous and he start being nonchalant towards her it’s so weird I feel like something more is going on but I don’t wanna accuse anyone or even say what I think it is

I don't know if this is jealousy but more protective than jealous.

Do I assume that you are a female and thus, you are either bisexual or lesbian? If that is the case, then her dad may try to prevent her from going out with a person of the same gender. That happens and it is a way to try to protect her from making a mistake.

Not every parent is happy about his child being different and he may display his dissatisfaction in the way he behaves.

Her mom may have accepted that fact that her daughter is not like she would have hoped but the dad has definitely a big issue with that.

Ok me and her got together she actually told her dad about us he said he didn’t care that she was gay he said he accepted her and everything but as time passes he would act very weird when me and her are otp like he is standoff ish towards her and she told me he never did this before but she also stated that he did this when she was in her previous relationship and I just don’t get it like what is the big issue we are both females and if he says he accepts her for being gay then I don’t understand why he’s being this way I’m very respectful to him I try speaking to him it’s nothing but dry talk or nothing at all but she tells me when me and her aren’t talking he’s normal and talkative and a good funny dad to her so I don’t understand why he’s doing this but eventually I feel like it will ruin our relationship because I want a bond with both of her parents I want them to know that I want to be with their daughter her mom said I could come over and everything but her dad said I can’t even spend the night at his house I wanted to come visit her around her family that way she’s comfortable but I don't know anymore
