Are you supposed to get your friends with benefits a valentines day gift?

I don't want to make things awkward over gifting in this situation. Am I supposed to get her candy or flowers? Or is the normal weed and company ok still?

Part of friends with benefits is to not have the same romantic obligations and responsibilities as official couples do.


It could make her feel like you’re getting too attached or it can make her feel bad if she didn’t prepare anything for you.


If there are some hard boundaries for not becoming more than friends with benefits, then it’s best to not create an awkward situation by doing something Valentine-y.


If becoming more than friends with benefits is flexible and it’s a direction you two are open to, then I suppose having something prepared is fine. Maybe.


So, I’d say no.


But, if you’re super paranoid about this, you can get something or make something just in case and not show it or reveal it unless she did something for you too.

That's a good idea having a gift just incase I can get a box of candy for like 20 bucks or so it's no big deal. If she doesn't expect I gift I can just eat some fancy candy. I feel you though I don't want her to get surprised I'm giving her a gift and be upset. I mainly just pick her up we blaze a bit, maybe take some shrooms and we smash. It's been fun and I don't want to blow it buy getting an unnecessary gift.

Thanks for the advice. At this point I'm so split on it. It seems like a very 50/50 thing in general. But we are vibing a lot and candy isn't expensive I feel like there isn't nothing crazy about giving her some candy. I just don't want to turn her off giving her a gift. Like I don't know where we are at, at all. We tripped the last two times we hung out, and I told her I think I love her the 1st time we tripped. I admit that was early af to say some shit like that, and we both kind of chalked it up to be like the drugs talking I guess. But then she comes through we trip again, smash vibe all day, and she was mad extra cuddly today to. So I don't know I think we both got feelings for each other on top of it. But she wants to take things slow. And I want to take things slow to. I just am mad unsure about giving a gift now though as a result. I think my gut says buy the gift so far though.

It depends on your emotional connection with her, like what is the situation is like after you had sex with her? Is it ever couples-like or is it just very casual? As for me, if it’s very casual, literal fuck buddy type of thing, a val’s day gift is not to be expected

I have met her twice we have had sex both times. We basically get high and have sex. I'm meeting her again tomorrow. It's like I see her once a week and we smash at this point. But we do hang out all day on Saturday. And get along outside of sex.

I get what you mean, I just am not sure if like a heart shaped box of candy or flowers is where we are at relationship wise yet. I really like kicking it with her and don't want to scare her away. But I appreciate the advice and I'm probably going to get her a box of candy just as a little something. I think flowers or a gift gift would be too much right now. But I can't see her getting mad at candy. I have had a tinder date ghost me before over saying "have a goodnight" to her the night before we were supposed to go out. So I have had bad luck being nice to people in the past and I am just really hoping this girl is cool with getting some candy. Cause I honestly would feel way more comfortable giving her candy on valetines day than just not having a gift for her.
