I've never liked that single people have to pay more in taxes in the US, where married people get a slight discount 1 to 2% and those with kids get massive cuts.
They are encouraging people to have lots of kids despite, I guess the government thinks the country is under populated.
That is why singles should get some love lol
Yeah, I can see Government, with a depopulation worldview, incentivizing Public singles $500.00 to make babies on one hot night ♨️
That’s going to happen…
As an Enrolled Agent I sincerely endorse your idea. I think a poll might be more accurate without the subtle hint of the suggestion. But hold on, I don't mean to be ummm, an asshat but didn't you ask about Valentin's day presents. You are about the only male I respond to on here so - no, please don't worry about it. As a professional I cannot condone having a person for whom you are buying a Valentine AND taking the deduction. A suggestion might be, spend the money earmarked for the gift- especially if the wine you were considering is a Grand Premiere Cru, Appellation Controlee - apologies for the embarrassing absence of diacritical notations. A 1951 Lafite Rothschild might be available for under a thousand dollar, use the $1,000. to rent an escort and still qualify for the deduction
Whatever gets us there man lol
I don't know anyone who spends that much on Valentine's day.
Well that is why it's a tax break and not a $500 dollar donation to you lol
If there was a Valentine’s Day tax break for those who file single I think more people would probably file that way. I finished my taxes last night & federal & state received them today.
Why? It's not as though it's a federal holiday.
It's just a fun question. Not to be taken too seriously.
Yes sure but it won't make it more pleasant.
I am sorry to hear that. What would make it more pleasant? Is there anything?
yes, it would take some of the sting out of it.
Tax break for people doing the work of providing for the next generation. Single people should pay more for doing nonthing
Im sure CPAs will be crying like bitches tho
I Don't think anyone would say no to this.
That is not how taxes work. They don't reward you for not having things.
Then everyone would want to be single that day lol
