6 moUS tax law allows for several tax breaks for single people. You can donate to charity and claim a deduction. You can also deduct interest on your home mortgage, or depreciation on various business expenses.
What special tax break would you suggest for single people?
Asker6 moA break for being single the same way there's a break for being married. Married people have a unique break that single people cannot get. All the breaks you mentioned are available to married people too.
- 6 mo
The reason why married couples get tax break is that they usually have children, which increases the population and ultimately adds more people who will pay taxes. Good for government.

u 6 moNo. Perhaps that would make your life easier, but that is not what anyone would call a "compelling reason."

Asker6 moWhy not do it if it helps people?
- 6 mo
The government needs a fixed amount of money to fund everything in the budget. Give single people a break on taxes and married people must pay more to make up the difference. So you want to shift some of your tax burden to me. Convince me that is "fair."
Asker6 moThen eliminate the marriage tax breaks so they pay their fair share
Asker6 moI'm done picking up the burden from married people
- 6 mo
The government encourages marriage because that leads to the propagation of our population, our culture, and our heritage.
Anonymous(18-24)6 moBreaks for married people are because together they're using resources more efficiently. Single people use almost as many resources as 2 married people, so they are not given those breaks.
Asker6 moThey pay for those resources though. They don't have options for alternatives to those resources most of the time either.
I guess if they're really that inefficient, at what point are they too much of a burden to the system that if anything we should raise taxes on these inefficient leeches?
No. Everyone equals means less costs for controlling if everyone is really paying the right tax class

Asker6 moSingle people have a higher cost of living
- 6 mo
Yes and no. Less visits and presents at birthdays... dont need to cook every day maybe and no partner complains. And some are living with others and share costs without any sex or relationship. But yes. Devices and costs for heating if you can't share are higher. In Germany there are different tax classes. As single you have tax class one which means highest. Not married and no children or nor underaged children. It is as it is. I cannot compare with other countries. I dont live luxery but I live. I work and have a bed and enough food. Thats more than most of the worlds people have... I dont complain about taxes.
Asker6 moHealthcare costs are higher, less support leads to more health issues, financial stress has physical health affects in the long term. Higher rate of mental health issues due to compounding issues of financial issues.
Single people work longer hours for the same pay and are often more effective in their jobs. They get less benefits for the taxes they pay.
But you condescendingly think it's about birthday presents, you're a fucking asshole and want single people dead just come out and say it
Asker6 moYou'd dent children access to medical care if they have a bed, you're a crazy fuck
Asker6 moDeny
Asker6 mo"I need cancer medication"
"Well you have a bed that's more than most the people in the world have, shut up, suck it up."
Your logic is fucked
Asker6 moBut yes at this point MAGA assholes like you are what survival of the fittest
Asker6 moYea you're a sick person who is devoid of empathy and understanding. You're literally against medicine like wtf

AskDiving into this juicy topic with my relationship expertise, I must say this one's a head-scratcher! Tax breaks are like love languages: not one-size-fits-all. While married folks get those cozy tax breaks, single peeps definitely deserve some love too! Financial independence is like the self-love of the tax world. Whether singles get those breaks or not, it's all about balance and fairness! 💰❤️💃

Anonymous(45 Plus)6 moThe entire tax code needs to be scrapped. It is an outrageous violation of liberty.
No more tax returns and a flat rate income tax, everybody pays the same flat percentage rate and that's it. No special rates for anyone, every INIVIDUAL pays the same exact flat rate. No joint filing, no deals for married people or anyone else. You pay a percentage of your income and that's that. Get rid of all the fucking craziness. It's ALL corrupt.
You have to pay someone to file your taxes? ridiculous and anti-freedom. Scrap the entire tax code NOW!

Dude... you are in your 30s and you dont understand why government need to collect taxes... So if in some miracle they give tax break, you know the first thing the companies (also healthcare companies) are gonna do? They will increase their prices , because they know you gonna have more money. And later when government are no longer give tax breaks then those companies keep their prices same. Then you are even more fucked.

6 moThey should marry and have children. There is no reason to reward infertility..
Asker6 moSo you admit that marriage tax breaks are a reward?
Essentially you personally value single people less than married people?- 6 mo
How did I do that in my words?
Asker6 moBy placing a value on fertility based. Should infertile women pay more in taxes?
- 6 mo
Fecundity should and will be rewarded in tax structure. It is inevitable We need more taxpayers to fund the government democrats vote for

6 moThe bible says if remove bitterness and pettiness from your mind and heart, you remove the roadblocks that prevent you from upgrading your paycheque.
Asker6 moWould everyone who can't afford things simply aren't working hard? Essentially the more money you have, the better of a person you are?
- 6 mo
No. You can work hard and still be bitter and stingy, the bible says stingy people become poor even if they have no idea they will become poor. And Mike Murdoch said there are different types of stinginess and different types of poverty. You can be rich with money but poor with happiness and health or life satisfaction or love. So it depends in what ways you are stingy and in what ways you are willing to give or at least, allow others to be happy and free when you cannot afford to share what you have with them.
Asker6 moWho said anything about stingy or bitter?
I asked if singles should get tax breaks to alleviate the higher cost of living they face.
Asker6 moYou're one of those sick people who twists words from the Bible to justify suffering and enforce brutality. You probably show up to funerals and say "they died because they were gay, they chose sin" you're a sick fuck
- 6 mo
I do not know you and my knowledge of you is obviously limited by the computer screen but I had a possible inference that you might believe the tax blessings given to couples is not valid or socially merited by their unique family choices, implying, a possible, discontent with the way social priority is distributed in our world, leading to your decision to advocate for an arbitrarily verbalized equality condition you feel is morally devalued and under-appreciated, that is why I suggested you night want to look inside yourself and see if there are traces of bitterness that interfere with your happiness.
Asker6 moThen answer the question I asked, it has nothing to do with religion.
- 6 mo
When people speak, they use words in their vocabulary, and when I speak, I use ideologies and experiences I am familiar with.
Asker6 moDo you telling dying child they need to look deeper into them and end bitterness?
I'm asking about a macro economic issue and you're doing imposing gaslighting bullshit.
Jesus would send you hell because you dismiss actual problems to use religion to morally grandstand. You're a burden to society. You don't care about people
Asker6 moThen shut the fuck up if you have nothing of value to say, if I ask what is 2+2 you'd ramble on about Jesus saying you need to cleanse your soul and math is the devil's language.
Get the fuck out of here- 6 mo
I would describe religion as a booster and not as a shield, you can be religious and still get sick, but religion might boost your mood and your peace while you are sick. My pastor told me God might let you have problems but he might adjust the time duration you go through them or the rewards you get for going through them. In the bible, the poor man was poor all his life and then he went to heaven. Others began poor and became rich before they died. God does not promise 100% equality on earth, but he promises 100% mercy and compensation for those who endure and survive it and persevere in it, even if some only get their reward when they go to heaven. God said many bad things happen to good people who do not deserve it, this is in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. But God said he can move mountains and bring you out of it. Jesus died on the cross but he did not stay dead, because he did not deserve to die on the cross. God promises rewards, not immunity.
Asker6 moThe question has nothing to do with religion, answer the question
- 6 mo
I think all financially troubled people who merit support should get it when the country has the resources and available priority sequence to provide them with any possible support they might need or deserve.
Asker6 moShould single people get tax breaks, yes or no
Asker6 moWould you vote for against it
- 6 mo
I would vote for all necessary socialist ideas the country can afford that are morally worthy of my concern over other competing concerns of lesser importance of more difficult applicable value.
Asker6 moYes or not to my specific question.
