Why do men always ask women out on dinner dates?

Most women don’t want to go out with you on a 3 hour long date let alone:

• We probably don’t think you’re attractive
• you're probably not our type
• you're probably not even tall

what makes you think we would want to go on a dinner date with you?

even if you fit the criteria above just don’t. Once you know she finds you attractive ask her on a coffee date

I think the reason is that for many guys a coffee date seems too casual while a dinner date seems more appropriate. If you don´t like the guy or don´t find him attractive why do you go out on a date with him? If you´re not interested don´t go.
It´s more hurting to him if you go and later tell him he´s not your type then tell him before the date right away you don´t see a future with him.
But besides guys often take the ideas other guys used thinking it worked for them it could therefore work for me.

Because they probably have a better chance of you accepting to go out with them if they take you to dinner vs hey would you like to go to the tractor and truck pulls tonight, or I'm going to the racetrack tonight, feel like sitting on a wooden bench and coming home smelling like oil, tyres and have dirt in your hair?

I always like lunch dates, if they don't go well, you have the rest of your day ahead of you.
If they go well, you have the rest of the day ahead of you.
More casual, and less expensive for the person that is paying.

To all the guys out there, just know that the vast majority of us don't think like this girl. If we are interested in a guy, we would rather he show he values us enough to take us out for a nice dinner and not just a cheap cup of coffee. Obviously there are exceptions, but it sounds more like this girl is just using the subject as an opportunity to express her bitterness toward men.

It's tradition and many men are expected to do so. A dinner date screams romantic intention while coffee doesn't. It doesn't matter the venue, if there's a connection, there's a connection. Your personal preferences don't matter. Many women still expect to be wined and dined. If the first date is a coffee date, many aren't going to be interested.

Typically I'll give the option of coffee/tea or dinner and let her decide. But I also get dinner with friends, including female friends, regularly, so that's my usual go to when I want to spend time with someone.
