There is quite a lot of inaccurate information online about people, especially on those background check sites. I looked up people I have known for years, family members, and myself. I have found that approximately 40% of the information was inaccurate.

It is rather creepy. Takes away the learning about each other on the date. Plus, depending on what you do on Facebook or some other social media, they could form a false impression of you. I don't go on Facebook much at all any more. It's basically the only site besides indeed that has it go by my name.

I run background and criminal record checks beforehand. We do this sort of stuff to protect ourselves, and help prevent getting with a murderer or a sex offender
