My boyfriend left me claiming I cheated on him, do you think he's right?

A guy on Instagram said hello to me and I said hello to him. Then I answered him as he spoke to me in a friendly way. When my boyfriend saw this, he claimed that I cheated on him. However, I didn't even talk romantically with that guy. My boyfriend told me that it doesn't matter how I talk because I'm giving him a positive signal by letting him talk. He left me. Does this count as cheating?

I mean, he asked me random non-dangerous questions, and I answered. “I like the paintings you shared, are you drawing them... how old are you... we live in the same city, it's like I've seen you before...”etc. I replied that I did not see any romance in his messages.

It’s likely that he just wasn’t that into you and was looking for an opportunity to break up with you. He didn’t want to be the bad guy, though, and so he just waited around to find the best possible chance to make it look like you caused the breakup. Apparently, you were such a good girlfriend that the worst possible thing you ever did in the relationship was say “hi” to someone over a direct message on IG. That just makes him look pathetic to break up with you over that and to try to make himself seem like the victim of being cheated on.
