Besides hygiene and manners, how important are looks in dating or relationships?

Looks are very important to me but also their sense of style plays a big part in my attraction... First thing I usually notice on a person is their shoes.. tells me if I want to be friends or not :P

It is important. How you present yourself is basically a 1st impression, the cover of your book for the lack of better words. Sure it doesn't determine the depth of a person, but just basic styling and hygiene can go a long way to show that you at least take care of your person.

It's important that you meet some level of attraction and it's certainly what you need to get started with a relationship. A ugly girl doesn't really get a chance to prove her other values or a ugly man either.

I have a minimum requirement I guess that I expect however in relationships, I give less importance in this area as I would in something casual. Instead, I place greater Importance in the qualities that are necessary for healthy relationships

It's certainly helpful. Intelligence is very sexy and far more attractive than just good looks, but not if the guy is obese.

Yes of course hygiene. Looks always play a little bit in factor for me. But if you don't have the personality I don't want it.

If she is at least Plain Jane and not obese it does not matter to me. Unclean would fall under hygiene. Messy might be a problem if it is extreme because I'm a neat freak
