Is there a problem with men being shamed for being promiscuous?

Recently someone posted a question asking why men are shamed for being sluts. Is that a problem in society or is this person absolutely clueless when it comes to the outside world? He's never been in a sexual relationship, so he isn't speaking from personal experiences. I don't know of men being shamed for it but I definitely know women are. I don't have any evidence or surveys to show whether it's true or not, mainly because I'm too lazy to look and too uninterested to really care that much. I just thought I'd get your takes on it.

In the end, we all love promiscuous people for a good fuck. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. It's just that girls are more conscious of taking advantage of somebody than men using a woman for her body.

Like if a guy tells his guy friend he doesn't love his girlfriend, but he likes her and the sex is good, the other guy will high five him most likely and say "I know what you mean!"

But if a woman says the same about her boyfriend, tons of people would be ready to say "you deserve better", "you deserve a guy who opens car door for you", "you should date with the intention of marriage", "what if he knocks you up" etc. Instead of being happy for her.

I remember back in my high school days, that a few girls had the reputation for being slutty but I knew it was absolutely NOT true of some. It was a problem for them. Most of the problems came from other girls. I had a reputation for being a "womanizer", which wasn't true and was looked upon as being a stud by guys. I also noticed that a lot of the girls didn't trust me if I showed interest in them but didn't shame and would eventually show interest. It's funny, because in high school, I dated a total of TWO girls but people acted as though I was getting laid every weekend.

I don't thinks it ever a problem when people are shamed for being promiscuous. I rarely hear that happening to men though.

I agree. Those same men and women bitch later in life why they can't find a good "husband/wife". They're "all taken". Yeah, they are all taken, by girls/guys that haven't been run through like a subway station! I won't shame anyone for the life they lived, it's their choice but I will not feel sorry for them when it haunts them.

No quite the opposite. There's been attempts by feministscand women will tell you they don't want a promiscuous player but when it comes down to it they always choose a guy who gets the ladies. Think it's a psychological thing with women, if other women want the same guy they want him too regardless if he's bad for her. It was only when I started dating this one hot girl in high school that girls started to be intrested in me.

I think some women might be turned off by it but some are actually fascinated by a male slut. All guys are jealous of them. Unless they're only banging fat ugly chicks. I think it's safe to say both guys and girls are turned off by female sluts. Guys will sleep with them, because it is sex but they would never have a relationship with a slut.

Hmm, I know guys that married "friendly" women. Although, I've known girls that had that reputation but it just wasn't true.

They’re not shamed for it but some girls don’t wanna date a guy who’s been with a ton of girls. Of course other girls find that hot so who knows?

Definitely true. I think it's also true that both girls and guy's shame a female that is promiscuous, while some girls, not all shame men and most guys are envious.
