Why has this guy not responded, have I scared him away?

Went on a 1st date with a guy a few days ago. I thought it went well and it obviously did as he message straight after to say he had a great time and get home safe. I said the same back.

I message him the next morning as he'd paid for something and I'd forgot to pay my half of it, and he said that's fine don't worry. So I just said I owe you next time.

That was sent via the dating app. We'd exchanged number before the 1st date.

I hadn't got a response so thought maybe that was his way of not wanting to take it further.

Then around 8pm last night he sends me a whatsapp message asking about my day and how my drive home was. (So have no idea if he saw my last response on dating app)

I respond to that almost straight away, but then nothing. Then around 9am this morning he responds, so I message back to his response and ask about his weekend and he remembered I was doing something so ask if I was still doing it and what else I was doing.

SO I responded and then at the end I said maybe we could meet again sometime or not with a laughing emoji. (I'm not sure what his feelings are so didn't want to feel like I was forcing him to meet me again)

I know he said he has a busy day, but I can see he's been online, but hasn't viewed or responded to my message.

I would imagine he's seen it, do you think he's just not that interested, but if so why keep messaging me.

I only ask as he ask me on the first date and thought he might be waiting for me to make the next move.

Why has this guy not responded, have I scared him away?
