Not too many people are fond of someone who is extremely narcissistic, constantly on the phone, posting fish lip selfies every 30 seconds.
It doesn't matter how pretty a person male or female, but if their personality suck it just isn't worth it.

You may fit is physical ideal, regardless of popular social norms.
You might have an unrealistically low opinion of your appearance.

There are good reasons not to want hot women because they excessively want male attention and are likely to cheat and manipulate etc.
Probably wouldn't have other women on the side but there could be other women he is interested in. If he is looking around that is pretty normal. It can be who gets in first.
Maybe because these hot women are already taken. Maybe because a lot of hot women tend to be selfish, they think their looks will last forever so they feel like they can treat men like shit. Maybe they’re high maintenance. Self absorbed. Shallow. Boring. Take too much time getting ready. Picky. Stubborn. Maybe they’re not as hot as you think. There’s a lot of reasons. Maybe they’re just after money.
He probably doesn't see himself as all that. Also women tend to be poor judges of what men find attractive. On his eyes you are probably well above average.
Self esteem / confidence plays a big part. Also if your partner thinks you are objectively more attractive then they'll be more nurturing towards them - actively choosing a cooperative attitude rather than confrontational one.
