Guys don't have the upper hand in dating, guys do beg for dates, just when we hear no enough or loud enough from one we move on to the next. Females get to pick the guy to date and they now have a boyfriend. For guys dating is like fishing, some get a bite instantly, some gotta wait a while, some wait a very long time while others might never get a bite ever, and even if one does get a bite it might not be one they can take with them so they gotta start all over.
So I'd definitely say females have the upper hand.

I don't think men have an upper hand necessarily. I think men accept the reality of what they are and if they're not capable of securing the mate that they want, instead of complaining about it or begging, they are better at accepting their place.

That depends on the man some men are desperate begging for a relationship and so are some women. The problem is that it chases away genuine people because genuine people also want someone who genuinely wants them not someone just wanting a relationship. It does open the door for abusive people though who will use your loneliness and desperation to use as well as control you.

People say women have it easier but not all women have the time or money to make themselves look like super models. Not all men are rich with a six pack either.

So people need to slow down and focus on finding someone whose right for them.

I pretty much see just that on here. I think for the most part it's pretty even for a certain subset of the population. Maybe the people in horribly disadvantageous demographic areas like Alaska are having an inordinate amount of difficulty, but for the most part... I mean there's 8 billion people in the world. Not hard to find a few to date.

I think women can command more out of men at the beginning of "a relationship" (very loosely defined), but only until a week later when someone commands less, or doesn't bring as much drama to the table, or seems more appreciative.

Women can be the gatekeepers of the relationship starting, but FAFO, and men can be the gatekeeper of how long you stick around.
