Are too many "girl friends" a red flag?

I have been dating a guy on and off for a year and a half. He constantly talks about other women and his ex's. He has a girl best friend I've never met and when I asked to meet her he said, "what do you want me to do, schedule a play date?

He also had another girl who was a friend who he would smoke with once a week and hang out at his apt with. Never met her either. So all of these girls have just circled our whole relationship. There are other friends who are girls too.

I know the smoking girl and he don't speak anymore. Should I reach out to her to confirm, or just let it go as I just broke it off with him.

They could be friends but it’s likely he’s either hooking up/dating one of them, or all of them, who can know. I’m sure you wanna put that past him but given your situation it’s not a far stretch. You’ve invested almost two years and have no title or place to even ask to meet these women since you’re not his girlfriend. I don't know what you’re hanging on to with that guy but from an outside perspective the writing was on the wall when 5 months passed and you still weren’t official.

Well love, you’re not anymore, so it just isn’t your place to ask those questions and that should annoy you more than wondering who those women are. He reminds you of that by shutting you down each time you ask with the whole condescending “should I set up a play date” bs. Which is mad rude by the way.

If you are not with him move on. What would end up happening is you prove your suspicions right then the next guy you date ends up paying the price. Why let this guy you are not have any power over your emotions. Time is too short to waste it with nonsense that is not going to benefit you in any positive way
