How to level up for a successful man?

I am a 29-year-old attorney who is just starting out in her career. I am financially independent but I’m in no way financially secure yet. I recently met a guy who seems to have it ALL. He’s tall, kind, handsome, great career, home owner, nice car. I know that I have a lot of maturing to do. I’ve only ever dealt with childish relationships that were often toxic but I know that I am ready for something real and lasting and healthy. I want to be the person that a man like this has been praying for. I know that I need to do better with money management and some of my childish ways but I want to level up more than this.

I have my own apartment make a decent amount of money. I don’t have a car right now because I left it back home a few months ago when I moved across the country. I’m afraid this may be a turn off but I simply don’t see the need to change anything about this right now because my job is only 4 minutes away from my apartment.

How do I appeal to this type of guy? I don’t want to pretend to be someone I’m not, I just want to rebrand myself into the kind of woman that the kind of man I want, wants.

Sounds to me like you already have great qualities that he would be looking for in a person.

The car thing is no big deal. If I could do without a vehicle, I would in heartbeat. Having a vehicle on the road for no apparent reason, suggests you are reducing your footprint which I give you two thumbs up.

As for rebranding, just be your natural self. You have a great job, a roof over your head and he should be impressed with that alone.

You don't have to "level up". You've done everything appropriate for your age -- you've completed law school (congratulations!) and are starting your career. That's plenty. What "childish ways" are you talking about? Change your behavior for yourself and you won't have difficulty attracting a partner.

My best advice would be to consider your boundaries with this guy. You sound like you would do anything for him, and that mentality ironically means that you are surrendering responsibility for the relationship to him, which is a lot of pressure for a guy. This thing has to work for both of you. It's a partnership, not you worshipping Prince Charming.

If you are his "type", then no need to rebrand. If you're not, no amount of contrived adjustments will make you compatible. Just take care of yourself in terms of appearance and hygiene. And be interesting.
