How do I dress for a blind date?

Never seen them, only talked or in writing! In a safe public place, friends are there to support.

This be one way to get people out of their comfort zones!

I can't think any good reason for doing so unless one person was like Cyrano de Bergerac.

I like to see my food. That's part of the enjoyment. And it's also nice to select a bit of this and a bit of that with your fork.
I also don't want to have to search around for my wine or water glass, or fear knocking something over.

I want to see my partner. Communication is 55% nonverbal, 38% vocal, and 7% words only. Want to see her appearance, facial expressions, gestures and behaviors.
Why meet at all and why not just talk on the phone if we can't see each other?

I'd feel awkward being guided by assistants, and self conscious at the thought of them watching my date and I for their entertainment, sniggering or thinking "How cute!".

I have heard of Dark Dining, though. The thought doesn't sound all that titillating or appealing to me, but it's trendy right now.

good point just talking on phone and added complexity. I met my wife sight unseen, I liked how we communicated in writing and then talking. I wondered if it help people "break the ice" in a new fun way.

An interesting idea, I suppose, but there's not a lot you can DO on a date if neither of you can see, unless you have someone helping you, or have things set up very carefully in advance.

That sounds interesting, assuming they’d do the same. (Maybe recording the date to make sure no one was cheating. lol)
