Planning on asking my crush out the next time I see her does it sound like there’s something there from her side aswell?

Hey everyone so there’s this girl that I work with who I have a crush on, I plan on asking her out this Sunday as that’s the next time we work together. And I just wanted some unbiased opinions on the way she acts around me to see if people think that there may be something there from her side of things based on these things.

. So firstly this girl that I’m talking about will always go out of her way to banter and joke with me like there are times each shift we have together where even when she’s talking to someone else she will yell out to get me involved.

. I’ve also noticed that when I’m doing a task and I’ll look up I’ll see her staring at me.

. She will almost always go out of her way to say hello and goodbye to me all the time

. She involves me in conversations I’m not even apart of

. And she’ll get involved in conversations I’m having with other coworkers

. I made a tongue in cheek joke about how I have the best hair at work and she responded with “yeah you do” and another time I made a joke about how I don’t get enough credit at work and she was like “you really don’t”

. She will laugh at almost all of my jokes even when they aren’t funny

. She smiles a lot when we interact with one another

. And she worries about my safety if there’s something she thinks is unsafe.

so what does everybody think? Does it sound like there may be something there from her side of things? I’d appreciate the honest feedback.

Yeah, it definitely sounds like she is flirting with you from what you included in the details. Some things are better indicators than others. I would say it would be worth asking her out if you are dead set on dating a coworker.

I personally cannot recommend dating someone you work with. Here is why. Workplace relationships at their best are a distraction between two people. At their worst, they are a distraction for the two of you, the company and everyone you work with. I know this isn't what you want to hear since you like her.

The thing to consider though is what happens if the relationship fails. More so, what happens if it is a particularly bad breakup? Will you be able to stand being around her? Will you be able to continue to do your job? How awkward will it be?

You can't count on her quitting and finding a new job. You also will have other people taking sides. These are all things that people don't think about before jumping into a relationship with a coworker, but they are very real scenarios. It is why so many places don't allow relationships at work. Just something to think about.
