I had a coffee/first date with a girl I met online. She was petite, pretty body, cute face, fun, probably fun in bed and would do it like bunnies all night long, but. . . when she opened her mouth:

Would you date someone who never goes to the dentist?

The idea of kissing her made me want to vomit! Obviously, there was no second date!

My parents said when they were young children, they met an older person who grew back lost teeth in old age. I said I want to do that too and my dad laughed at me and said, a lot of people want that but only nature decides whether it will happen.

Some people have really good genetics and their teeth only take regular flossing and brushing, however, they have to go once in awhile to get a cleaning as it removes any buildup. I would pay for them to go at least once a year or if married they can get it through my benefits.

Sure. The only reason I used to go to a dentist multiple times a year was because of my diastema (which is now fixed, thankfully). As long as they take good care of their teeth, it shouldn’t matter. I have good oral hygiene. I brush my teeth twice a day and floss (which is the bare minimum, but still, my teeth look good) and I go to the dentist once a year just to make sure everything is fine.

You don’t have to go to the dentist to make sure you have good hygiene lol.

Unless they stink up the place how would I know before I am already in a long term relationship. You go there once a year unless you have issues. So I would need to see them for multiple years before I would even notice. So yeah smelly mouth no thanks. But if that involves a dentist or not is irrelevant.

I hated the dentist when I was young so much to the point that as soon as I was old enough that my mother couldn't physically force me to go I refused. I didn't go to a dentist from age13 to 26. And I paid for not doing it to. When I did finally go. I had 9 cavities. Luckily they were small. And I haven't had another cavity since.

So I would try to understand why they didn't want to go. I'd go with them if that made them feel better. Fears can be conquered.

Absolutely not. Before every date, I require a full set of her dental records to review in time for the date. I then contact her dentist for the latest X-rays of her teeth and then hold them up to her face during the date to see if she has improved her teeth cleaning habits.

My teeth were sealed years ago so that prevents any cavities. I also use an electric tooth brush, but did start having problems with my teeth when I started using a regular one, so I went back to the oral b tooth brush and been fine since.

If they needed to and refused to it would be a deal breaker. But many people can not go to the dentist and not have dental issues. Most dental issues are just genetics. I rarely go myself, never have any issues.

Some people still take very good care of their teeth regardless.  I don’t think there are many people who never go. The dentist isn’t actually an unpleasant experience.
