men have worse options because most women do not want to be traditional women and would rather be modern women instead

men however are still expected to be traditional men to attract any woman whether she be modern or traditional. the only difference is, the "standards" that most men don't meet are not personality/character traits but instead superficial factors such as lack of height, lack of income, low status, wrong car, wrong hobbies etc.

most men are objectively traditional (barring a few quirks here and there e. g. Harry Styles wearing a dress) but earning $50K annually and being under 6 feet tall ain't gonna cut it in the eyes of women

I think it really boils down to what a man or woman is looking for. Men or women who are looking for something serious and have true 'standards' are generally going to have a harder time finding a good partner.

But I think most women will say men have worse options because as women they want to feel like they can have a man any time they want, and they want men to feel bad and/or jealous about it.

I'll give you an example. My uncle has three kids with three different women but he's in his '70s and he lives by himself so we don't recognize that he's done that. But I know a girl who's around my age and all her kids are under 4 years old. But each of them have three different fathers. Since I can see the kids with no dads, it's clear to me that she's a hoe.

And that's why men and women are different.

Men have it worse. Women have a much greater range of choices and and can usually pick and choose among a fairly large group of men. They can approach men, or wait for men to approach them. Conversely, men get rejected a lot, and can usually only approach women and rarely get approached.

The chase, the seduction, inviting (and therefore paying) for the date, keeping him interested, etc etc...
Most of them aren't bad options, you just have so little to offer, and ask so much, that most of them can't meet your expectations.
